Vladimir Nabokov
Vladimir Vladimirovich Nabokov (1899–1977) was a Russian-American writer, poet, and entomologist, one of the twentieth century's greatest prose stylists, who wrote in two languages — Russian and English. The book caused a scandal, drew accusations of pornography, and at the same time brought its author worldwide fame as an unmatched stylist working at the edge of the most difficult subjects.
